Rochester not ‘short’ on giving

The positive impact of recent renovations to the school and grounds inspired us to do more

What do Stantec and School 33 in Rochester, New York have in common? We’ve got community in mind. The positive impact of recent renovations to the school and grounds inspired us to do more. That’s why Stantec’s Rochester employees pooled their resources to start students off on the right foot this September.

Fifth and sixth grade students received approximately $170 worth of school supplies- from new pens and pencils to notebook paper and composition books. The idea stemmed from a community engagement conference call with a dedicated School 33 teacher, Fabian Serventi, who requested the supplies for his students. Money was raised directly by our employees through the ‘wear shorts to work on Fridays’ program- where employees wear shorts and donate $1.00 in exchange.

Who knew keeping cool this summer would pay off in such a great way for the Rochester community!
