Everyone has a creative side, and no one knows that better than our community partner the Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts. Their hard work gives people with disabilities an opportunity to express their creativity through amazing works of art. This year, for the first time, we are excited to present the Stantec Artist of the Year, Scott Berry.
Scott’s latest sculptural installment is Confusement, which he calls “the feeling of being stared at but no one can see who you are.” It was the centerpiece of the Nina Haggerty Centre’s 12th anniversary celebration on February 19, where he was also recognized as the Stantec Artist of the Year.
Through our partnership with the Nina Haggerty Centre, Scott will have the chance to share his creative gifts with communities throughout Northern Alberta as he tours around the province with his art. No doubt he will serve as an inspiration to everyone he meets to take a chance and exercise their artistic talents.
Planning for the official kick-off to Scott’s roadshow is now underway. Stay tuned to see when he and his art will be coming to a community near you.
