Stantec’s Jenny Hartfelder assumes Presidency of Water Environment Federation

Stantec’s Jenny Hartfelder recently assumed presidency of the Water Environment Federation’s (WEF) Board of Trustees during the organization’s annual WEFTEC conference in Chicago. With 25-plus years of industry experience, Hartfelder will help the not-for-profit association WEF fulfill its vision of being a community of empowered professionals creating a healthy global water environment.

Hartfelder is a Stantec vice president, serving as a national campaign manager from the Denver, Colorado, office. She provides strategic planning and leadership for the business development activities for the water sector across the United States.

During her year-long term as WEF president, Hartfelder will help fulfill the Federation’s mission—to connect water professionals, enrich the expertise of water professionals, increase the awareness of the impact and value of water, and provide a platform for water sector innovation. WEF is a technical and educational organization of 33,000 individual members and 75 affiliated Member Associations representing water quality professionals around the world. Hartfelder has been a member of WEF since 1997.

“This past year, we have made great progress on WEF’s objectives,” Hartfelder said. “In this next year, I want to focus our efforts on increasing the awareness of the value of water. I am very excited to have this opportunity to continue to work with all of our members to make a positive impact on the water industry.”
