Welcome to Plano

Thrice designated as the best place to live in the Western United States, Plano is full of tree-lined streets, quiet neighborhoods, and more than 30 international corporate headquarters. It’s a community built on business that has stayed true to its values. And it’s a community we are proud to call home.

We work to make the future as bright as the present by creating schools that foster innovation and collaboration. From the unique view the faculty “perch” at Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Collegiate Academy provides to the interactive television classrooms at Paris Junior College, we’ve continued to design innovative solutions to support education. At the University of Texas at Dallas, our team designed a highly efficient, 107,500 GSF expansion to the existing Naveen Jindal School of Management, creating the space where tomorrow’s leaders will learn.

Plano continues to be a great place to live and we strive make each community we touch a better place by creating new and exciting educational facilities.

The Stantec intern experience empowers students to collaborate, create, experiment, research, design, and inspire. Meet our Plano interns.

Braison

Hi, my name is Braison Boiken and I’m a student at the University of Texas at Arlington, College of Architecture, planning and public affairs.

Amina

Hi, my name is Amina, I’m a grad student at University of Texas, Arlington.

Anthony

HI, my name is Anthony Simenson and I go to Oklahoma State University.

Braison

My six word story is: willingness to learn; improving our urban fabric.

Amina

My six word story is: up for adventure, food, and travel.

Anthony

My six words story is: teaching, learning, the world is waiting.

Braison

When I began on my journey with Stantec, they helped me in identifying my strengths and my weaknesses, and they found a place for me to fit on the team where I’m able to learn but also use my strengths to enhance what already goes on in the office. Another thing about Stantec that I really like is that we work really hard, but at the same time we have a lot of fun and so there’s a really great balance between design, community development, seeking each individual’s potential and their weaknesses, and also having a good time.

Amina

What I like about Stantec more than my previous internships is the energy that they have here. Age is just a number, everybody’s so approachable, friendly, and motivating, and they’re very helpful too. I don’t really feel just like an intern but already a part of the team.

Anthony

I came back to Stantec for a second internship because first I fell in love with the environment. That was one thing that you can’t really know from paper, you have to have the experience. So the first summer I went into it just on everything that was talked about and hoped for, and then the second internship was: I already knew what to expect, and it was already so good so it could only get better.
