David’s work celebrates the human spirit through social equity, quality design, and ecological intelligence. With over 26 years of experience at home and abroad, this registered landscape architect and urban designer’s capabilities range from large-scale master planning to detailed design and implementation.
For David, it’s all about carefully evaluating the lifecycle of a project to identify a sustainable approach that will serve the present as well as the future. He believes, as a designer, if you master the fundamentals of design and construction, then principles such as form, scale, proportion, and knowledge of materials, documentation, and construction become second nature. With those under control, you can concentrate on the creative synthesis of those principles with program and place.
In his free time, David serves on the board of his favorite non-profit organization: the International School of Denver. The school is a diverse place of over 40 different cultures that focuses on immersion education in three target languages: Spanish, French, and Mandarin. By serving on the board of directors, David is able to leverage his expertise as a designer and offer guidance to an exciting and forward thinking institution.
