Gelare’s passion is creating spaces with a sense of place, places where you can experience architecture. She’s a design manager with our airports team, and she has more than 15 years of experience as an architect and project manager. Her current responsibilities include design, development, and construction management of complex and large-scaled aviation-sector projects.
She believes that, architecturally, airport buildings are where technology and culture meet—and where universal designs overlap with local, community characteristics. Recently she’s put her vision to use in the Pearson International Airport. There, she and her team are trying to design a multi-functional feature; a digital information boost, a light feature, and a sculpture. The intent? Enriching passenger experiences.
Before joining Stantec, Gelare had an internationally recognized architectural practice. As a practice owner and project manager, she maintains strong relationships with clients and calls on an extensive range of experience. When she’s not working, Gelare loves to spend her time in nature with her family—skiing in the winter, sailing in the summer, or hiking in the fall.
