Described by clients as a puppeteer pulling the strings of project components and multiple suppliers, Julian is actively involved in numerous mine feasibility and design projects. With over 30 years of experience in the mining industry, Julian contributes electrical engineering expertise and technical support on feasibility studies, estimating, drawings, procurement services, installation, commissioning, and hoist systems.
In particular, Julian enjoys applying his skills to international projects. Those projects are filled to the brim with variety and technical interest. Since summer 2012, Julian has been working on the Freeport Indonesia Underground Rail project, a technically and logistically complex endeavor with a 160,000 tonnes per day autonomous rail haulage system (on nearly 28 kilometres of track), 12 trains, approximately 70 active chutes, and three unloading stations.
Julian spends his down time practicing karate: an International Shotokan Karate Federation 3rd Dan trainee instructor, Julian volunteers at the Chandler Boys and Girls Club and trains at the Mesa Dojo.
