Deb is used to managing the unexpected. She enjoys the thrill of it, from her magazine selection (Toxicological Sciences gets paired with Cooking Light) to finding opportunities that seem like a detour but end up as exciting new experiences. That being said, Deb has diverse experience in environmental health, toxicology, human health, and ecological risk assessment. Recently, she completed a complex project responding to community concerns about potential toxic exposures associated with odors from a reaction in the waste of a closed landfill. Deb was previously a Clinical Associate Professor at The Ohio State University College of Public Health, Division of Environmental Health Sciences, where she taught graduate level courses and is still adjunct faculty. Today, she is committed to leading Stantec’s risk assessment and toxicology practice in the United States and has served as an expert consultant, testifying on human health toxicology and exposure issues.
