We don’t just design buildings, we create settings where people spend considerable parts of their lives—so we go the extra mile to make it worth their while.

With a flair for healthcare programming, planning and design management, he has successfully led multi-disciplinary teams in delivering exceptional projects. Working extensively with public sector clients like SEHA, Musanada, and ZHO, as well as private for-profit operators like Bumrungrad and Mediclinic, he understands the respective priorities and concerns of each client and customizes his design and management approach to the client’s needs and objectives. A LEED accredited professional, he is an active contributor to the promotion of sustainability in the design of the built form.

In the past 12 years with Stantec, Abhishek has successfully delivered multiple healthcare projects of varied scales and contexts, ranging from expansion and renovations to large-scale greenfield hospitals. Some of his projects in the UAE include the 732-bed, $800 million Al Mafraq Hospital, the Mediclinic Parkview Hospital, the Silaa and Ghayathi Community Hospitals, the Canal Point Hospital, the Long-term Custodian Care Center, and several complex hospital expansions and upgrades. On each of the projects he has leveraged his knowledge and experience in application of international standards in design (AIA-FGI Guidelines, International Building Code, ADA, NFPA etc.)

He is currently developing a facility programming model for the MENA region which follows international best practices and addresses the regional cultural nuances, aiming to make the programming process more efficient and modular. When he is not planning hospitals, Abhishek likes to travel and is an avid travel photographer.
