Doug’s focus is on client and guest experiences. This design philosophy has been continuously refined through projects for NASA, Vancouver’s YMCA, Vancouver Aquarium and BC Place Stadium, a 2010 Olympics venue that met the client’s criteria to move them beyond their comfort. His design process provides opportunity for people to connect and resonate with projects from various points of view, from metaphorical to the practical and visual to tactile, resulting in a collective workbench where teams engage in fruitful conversation - sleeves rolled-up, speaking vision into being. Doug’s passion resides in public buildings, especially those created to reflect the stories/experiences of history makers. He pulls inspiration from the universe’s edge – the waterfront! He is engaged in actively evolving his downtown neighborhood into a sociologically sustainable community. No surprise, his favorite mode of transport is walking. Rejuvenation is found at the beach or hiking to Garibaldi Lake.
