Brian has a passion for roundabouts. As a transportation engineer, he’s always trying to find ways to make traffic flow easier and reduce urban congestion. His thoughtful approach to traffic concerns focuses on finding solutions that address the core issues of every project.
Brian’s redesign of the Prince of Wales Drive traffic circle accommodates over 20,000 cars per hour with virtually no queuing, and his work on the lane reductions along Sussex Drive has reduced vehicular accidents by over 66% through improved road geometry.
As a father of three adult daughters, Brian hopes his work on Ottawa’s transportation network does more than just reduce drive-time across the city. He seeks to make his community a safer place to live.
Born in Western Canada, Brian made Ottawa his home because it’s a great place to play. With a life-long love of canoeing, kayaking, and cross-country skiing, Brian enjoys playing with water in all its forms. In his spare time, he can be found relaxing at his cottage, reading about early Canadian explorers and trying to keep up with his Border Collie Marley.
