Even before joining Stantec as a bridge inspector, Drew was no stranger to the outdoors, teamwork, and the importance of safety. As a former whitewater rafting river guide in the Grand Canyon and an avid recreational rock climber, Drew combines his love for the outdoors with his passion for structural engineering by performing bridge, tunnel, and culvert inspections.
To date, Drew has performed routine and fracture critical element level inspections on over 1,000 structures as a certified team leader in the states of Colorado, Nevada, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Mississippi, as well as in the province of British Columbia, on a wide array of structure types. He’s worked with cable stayed structures, trusses, and tied arches.
As a SPRAT Level II certified team leader, Drew recently provided rope access inspection and oversight of a team comprised of two subcontractors and 15 Stantec bridge inspectors from five states to complete the fracture critical and routine inspection of the iconic 84-span US 82 Cable Stayed Bridge over the Mississippi River.
Drew’s goal is to prolong structural life expectancy and maintain safety for his team and the communities he serves.
