I’ve observed the positive impact smart workplace design can have on teams and their organizations. These success stories motivate my leadership of design teams and the process by which transformational projects are achieved.

Lisa Killaby

Vice President, Discipline Leader - Interior Design

Boston, Massachusetts

Lisa is a nationally recognized expert in workplace design with over 30 years of experience. As a leader in the Boston workplace practice, she leverages her real estate planning and workplace strategies expertise to develop transformational and award-winning workspaces for global leaders in technology and financial services such as IBM, Adobe, and Fidelity.

Her knowledge makes Lisa a sought-after expert for academic clients including MIT, Northeastern, Cornell University, and the University of Miami. Today, Lisa’s extensive knowledge of emerging trends has culminated in the development of Boston’s workplace strategy team: corporate real estate analysis and planning consulting.

Lisa works with our clients to identify their vision and program needs. Through on-site observation, employee surveys, focus groups, and senior leadership sessions, she develops a workplace strategy for each client which becomes the basis for the design development.

As our interior design practice lead, Lisa drives the interior design agenda with a focus on improving quality, design excellence, best practices, standards, and ultimately, the client experience. Working closely with interior designers across the Buildings team, she supports integration with the architectural, engineering, and specialty practices that are critical to the success of our projects.

I presented live at IFMA World Workplace in fall 2014 and again as a webcast for IFMA in 2015 on “Back to school: How academic design trends are reshaping the workplace.”

As part a panel about “The Creative Office” at BizNow - Office of the Future Summit in Boston (in both 2015 and 2016), I led the discussion about what tenants are looking for in the market and to how to attract creative talent.

As part of the team that produced the CoreNet 2020 report, I contributed to the future of workplace design.

I’m on the CoreNet New England Board of Directors, and I work on both the Program Committee as well as the University Initiative.
