Tighter schedules and budgets—these are the leading reasons why clients want non-traditional delivery methods. Joel, a creative problem solver, works with Building Information Modeling (BIM) to help teams collaborate and work more efficiently, all throughout Stantec.
He oversees BIM implementation across all of our international offices, and he participates in the overall planning and direction for the entire firm as part of the corporate BIM team. Recently, when our teams were working on the National Center for Cancer Care and Research in Doha, Qatar, Joel got to develop a collaboration strategy for multiple Stantec offices using BIM. This was the first project that allowed live collaboration between London, UK, and our North America offices.
Joel’s technical background puts him in a unique position to focus on how we can use digital technologies to assist with putting a building together. He’s interested in developing strategies and workflows to better achieve client’s goals, while pushing the envelope to design solutions that improve our built environment.
As an avid fan of all sports, Joel supports the New England Patriots and Arsenal FC. He also loves trying new restaurants and traveling—his next trip is to Thailand.
