Gordon’s love for bridges started young. He can even recall an early memory of reading a New York Times article that highlighted the completion of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. The project left such an imprint on him that a photo from the same article made its way into his childhood scrapbook.
Fast forward nearly half a century and Gordon can confidently say that he has made a career of designing the very bridges that help shape our local landscape today. As a senior structural engineer, he participates in every phase of a bridge project, from conceptual design and planning through to construction inspection and contract administration. With over 40 years of experience, his scrapbook has undoubtedly changed in size, featuring bridges of every level of intricacy, while his passion for watching drawings come to life remains constant.
Gordon clearly thrives on challenge and opportunity, but he also recognizes the importance of balance. Over the years, he has found a way to manage large municipal projects while appreciating a game of golf or a captivating historical fiction novel during his time off.
