Hassan is passionate about creating transportation experiences; because the journey should be as enjoyable as the destination. With over nine years of experience in transportation planning and traffic engineering, Hassan’s portfolio of transportation-related assignments includes light rail transit, transportation demand management, and creating mobility and parking plans for mixed-use developments.
Before joining Stantec, Hassan was the transportation demand manager with the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group (OSEG) for the redeveloped Lansdowne and TD Place in Ottawa. With OSEG, Hassan implemented creative strategies to accommodate special event transportation demands in advance of the debut of the Canadian Football Leagues’ Ottawa REDBLACKS in 2014 as well as the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup Tournament.
Prior to his role with OSEG, Hassan was a member of the City of Ottawa’s Rail Implementation Office where he was responsible for providing traffic engineering expertise and project management support for the construction of Ottawa’s $2.13 billion Confederation Line Light Rail Transit Project.
