Amanda is all about community. For her, a well-designed place is what brings people together for generations to come. As a registered landscape architect, Amanda brings that commitment to community and design to her process, making sure to include all stakeholders in building consensus and finding solutions that work for everyone. As such, Amanda is a skilled public facilitator who especially enjoys bringing young people into the design process. She puts that collaborative spirit to work on projects including site planning and analysis, comprehensive planning, neighborhood planning, downtown master planning, park and campus master planning, and landscape design.
Amanda’s work takes her to towns and cities of all shapes and sizes, but she’s always grateful to visit her favorite place – her family’s farm that has been in the Latta community for seven generations. It’s a peaceful refuge of rural small-town living where Amanda can visit one of her most-rewarding projects, the Latta School District Nature Play Park. Seeing children, including her own, play and connect to the outdoors in this one-of-a-kind nature-themed play space “makes my heart smile,” says Amanda.
