I create environments that bring a sense of community to urban spaces by using design and psychology.

Sara Morrison

Landscape Architectural Designer

New York, New York

Sara has always had an interest in urban ecology, environmental psychology, and community-centered design. She uses her background in psychology and landscape architecture to bring these interests to her work every day.

Knowing that design and psychology go hand in hand, Sara takes a site-specific approach to her projects, paying attention to the cultural undertones that influence how citizens use space and how they value things like diversity both ecologically and culturally.

Sara is thrilled to see how projects are incorporating resiliency more often than in years past, and is currently working on the Tottenville Dunes on Staten Island, a project that addresses resilience on a large scale. Sara feels that resiliency is a natural extension of landscape architecture through the incorporation of living elements, natural forces, and human forces.
