Being able to work with people - that’s what it takes.

Mike Murphy

Senior Principal, Environmental Services

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

Mike understands enthusiasm. In fact, one of the best pieces of feedback he’s ever received is a “double high five” from a client after a meeting with local regulators. He brings that same level of energy to his work as Stantec’s Canadian lead for atmospheric environment. With a doctorate in chemical engineering, Mike applies his analytical brain to air quality and engineering studies on emissions inventories of air pollutants, odours, acid gases and greenhouse gases (GHGs), ambient noise, and indoor air quality. Richard Feynman, a physicist and his professional hero, exemplifies Mike’s personal motto – learn and burn. Make mistakes, own them, learn from them, and then charge ahead with new experience under your belt. Over the last 24 years, he’s worked all over Canada, USA, and internationally. Although he might not (yet) be a Nobel Laureate, Mike’s excited by what he’s learning in the oil & gas and power sectors and plans to continue moving ahead on his chosen path.
