The best part of my job is seeing the idea for a building transform into a successful project through a communicative team experience.

Joel Nordberg

Senior Associate, Architecture

Burlington, Massachusetts

After spending the last 35 years as an architect, particularly in the re-use and preservation of existing buildings, Joel is an expert in problem solving. Through these experiences, he’s found that often the most important part of the design process comes down to systems integration.

But it’s working with clients to transform their needs and goals into visual forms that is Joel’s favorite part of the job. Some of his notable projects include the preservation and restoration of Boston’s historic Old South Meeting House, the design of a new academic classroom building at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, the conversion of an old mill building into UMass Lowell’s M2D2 Center, and the new 220-foot-tall Tower at Carnegie Abbey luxury condos in Rhode Island.
