A former multi-sport athlete, Jeff has experience in competitive hockey, soccer, baseball, softball, tennis, volleyball, and track. These days, he’s our sport sector lead for buildings and a sport architect guiding, supporting, and leading sports projects across North America.
Jeff’s sport studio design experience includes ice facilities, aquatic centers, indoor turf, and multi-use athletic facilities and spectator venues with a focus on the relationship between the sport, field of play, and the public. Jeff has also specialized in community consultation and community development, and he values opportunities where he can partner and collaborate for the best results.
With participation from all regions and disciplines, Jeff is currently establishing Stantec’s first North American sport network, and he’s also working with Hockey Manitoba and Stantec’s R&D program to develop a new guideline for ice arenas.
In his experience with communities and specialized sport and recreation clients, Jeff has developed a strong understanding of the value of sport and the need for visionary design solutions. Ideas that respond to the unique challenges that face each sport, community, and team. Jeff’s strength? His ability to gain and build consensus, generating design outcomes that are functional, sustainable, and beautiful.
