A project manager in the structures division in our Baton Rouge office, Amirpasha’s key responsibilities are project management, development of project design criteria, structural modeling, and analysis of different heavy infrastructure systems, focusing on bridges. He also conducts research studies on the application of new cementitious-based construction materials in application of bridges.
Amirpasha’s experience extends to the implementation of ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC)—a subject on which he based part of his PhD study. For most of the nation’s departments of transportations, particularly in Louisiana (LADOTD), UHPC is an exciting new construction material. It’s something that LADOTD were interested in using in a new Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) method. Recently, in series of articles published in ACI Materials Journal and Journal of Materials and Structures, Amirpasha spoke about the production methods for reliable construction of UHPC structures and how he’d like to move forward with this proposed technology for feature bridges for the LADOTD.
When he isn’t exploring new challenges, Amirpasha spends his time in nature. He enjoys anything related to outdoor activities, particularly camping, fishing, and hunting.
