David has planned, programmed, and designed many notable, large-scale projects for higher education clients over the past 30 years. He helps to explore the client’s vision, goals, and objectives, building consensus and establishing the foundation for a program that defines components and functional requirements.
In his national level projects, David has developed specialized expertise in the design of professional schools including facilities for the teaching of law, medicine, business, and teacher education.
David has a passion for historic preservation and has focused a significant portion of his career on restoring and renovating historic facilities. David is a member of the American Society of Media Photographers and has professionally photographed many Stantec projects. To him, photography is a completion of the architectural process and a great opportunity to learn from the in-use facility.
When not engaged in architectural activities, David enjoys tennis, bicycling, sailing, photography, carpentry, and working on classic sports cars. He’s now sharing these activities with his two young sons, a teaching experience that has given a new focus to his life.
