A career in landscape architecture is a natural fit for Dave – it combines his love of outdoor pursuits and art. More than a job, it’s an extension of a guy who spends his weekends hiking, gardening, and poring over contemporary design magazines.
For more than 35 years Dave has designed transportation, urban design, corporate, and campus projects. He is inspired by the vibrancy and diversity of his city and has played a part in creating it on award-winning projects such as Memorial Drive, Poppy Plaza, and the RiverWalk in Calgary, but some of his favorite projects are those related to higher education. Dave views campuses like they are small towns. They need all the services, recreation, and social interaction of a community but at a very compact scale. Good design will attract staff and students and schools including Mount Royal University, Thompson Rivers University, and the University of Calgary have asked Dave to help them do so.
