As an interior designer, Allison’s main responsibility is to develop interior spaces that enhance the quality of life and culture for all building occupants. The spaces have to be functional and aesthetically pleasing, but they also have to promote health, safety, and environmental sustainability—plus comply with all building codes and regulations.
A jack of all trades with experience in lab design, higher education, K-12, healthcare, mixed-use retail, and graphic signage, Allison recently worked on the Cleveland Institute of Art’s renovation and addition. Though she joined the design team at the end of the project during construction, Allison was determined to honor the design intent developed by her predecessors.
When she isn’t at work, Allison might be volunteering with ACE Mentor, an after school program for high school students interested in design, architecture, construction, and engineering fields. New Tech West High School—the school she’s a mentor for—recently took second place at the 2016 ACE design competition. Allison loves snowboarding, mountain biking, and devouring all things pop culture.
