Chuck’s background includes 28 years as an environmental professional in the mining industry at site, business, and corporate levels along with five years as a senior consultant. In a previous role, he served as the global head of environment for BHP Billiton where he worked on projects in over 20 countries and in multiple commodities. He’s supported senior corporate executives on environmental matters, external positioning on issues, global practices, and emerging trends. He’s also an avid fly fisherman.
Recently, when a long-time client in Arizona conducted an HSE audit of his team’s field activities, they shared a glowing response. They told Chuck that his team’s “implementation of HSE risk controls is setting the bar for all of our employees and contractors.” For Chuck, a robust safety culture is its own reward, but the praise was also well appreciated by the team.
With widespread experience in due diligence investigations and environmental liability transfers associated with mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures of mining companies, individual mines, and processing facilities, Chuck has maintained expertise in many diverse areas of the mining industry. And it lets him indulge in his love for traveling and experiencing new cultures and environments.
