Timo is passionate about teaching. He combines over 20 years of experience in civil and structural engineering with 9 years as a university professor. With this mix of skillsets, he applies the theories he teaches to the practical work that he and his team do every day; pushing the limits to uncover new and different ways to tackle engineering challenges.
He specializes in non-linear analysis of steel and concrete structures, finite element analysis, headframe structures, shaft design, and shaft steel design. Timo spent four years working as a civil engineering technologist on several large construction projects—construction supervising, surveying, inspecting, and drafting.
While working full-time in the consulting field as a design engineer and project manager, Timo completed the requirements for a Doctoral Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural), and he’s currently conducting research in six inter-related areas. Outside of work, Timo enjoys cross-country skiing, scuba diving, hiking, travelling, and spending time with his family.
