Engineers reduce the complexity of challenges by finding the components of a puzzle rather than seeing one overwhelming problem.

Dale Vehlewald

Houston, Texas

With over 27 years of experience in the design and construction of urban and rural roadway projects—including highway and interchange preliminary, right-of-way, and final design—Dale is an expert in both traditional project delivery and design-build endeavors.

Dale is currently serving as project manager and roadway lead engineer on the US181 Harbor Bridge Replacement project in Corpus Christi, Texas. A 6.44-mile design/build, the project involves the design, construction, and maintenance of a new six-lane controlled access facility with freeway lanes, frontage roads, ramps, bridges, and a multi-level interchange.

As design manager, Dale helped develop and then reviewed the roadway geometrics, and he developed alternative technical concepts for one interchange as well as for the ramp configurations along US 181 on the north end of the project,

If Dale isn’t solving engineering problems, he’s probably out fishing or working on his latest home improvement.
