You wouldn’t guess from Greg's inviting and composed nature that he has so much resting on his shoulders. As sector lead of the Edmonton Oil & Gas practice, seeing the big picture is only half of his job. Because he “knows what he doesn’t know,” and is adept at identifying and addressing strengths and gaps in knowledge, skills sets and resources available to his team, he is a natural leader.
Greg is responsible for managing client relationships in the industrial oil and gas sector, overseeing execution of Edmonton’s multi-discipline design teams and driving operational excellence. The EPCM, or Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management delivery model, was a significant addition to Stantec’s services under Greg’s leadership, and was, in part, responsible for the massive growth of his team from 270 to 570 in a short one and a half years. Greg is a computer engineer with over 20 years of experience working in the instrumentation and controls engineering field. For 15 years, he has gained project management, detailed design, construction, and commissioning experience in industrial plants.
In his free time, Greg spends time with his wife and two young children, volunteers for United Way, or goes fishing in the solitude of a mountain stream.
