Tom has a wealth of knowledge about bridges. For more than 30 years, he’s been involved with engineering fixed and moveable bridges many for freight and commuter rail clients. He has served as bridge engineer and project manager on a large number of rail bridge projects including standard timber, concrete, and steel spans; along with major railway structures across the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. His expertise encompasses bridge planning studies, preliminary and detailed design of new structures, as well as the inspection, load rating, and capacity improvements of existing railway bridges. He recently was the rail bridge structural lead for the design and plan preparation of a new single track rail bridge over the Missouri river, south of Omaha, Nebraska.
Tom is a member of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance of Way Association (AREMA), and a long time participant of Committee 8 – Concrete Structures.
