My goal is to be my client’s trusted advisor, to understand their business and their objectives and then help them deliver successful projects that bring them value.

Mark Wilson

Fredericton, New Brunswick

As sub-sector lead for Canada East’s Thermal Generation and sector lead for Atlantic Canada’s Power Business Center, Mark brings more than 28 years of experience in electric power and controls design to our company. He’s a sought-after expert in program and project management for thermal generating projects, energy storage, smart grid, micro-grid, fuel conversions, combustion turbines, and electrical power distribution.

Mark was the program manager for the NRCan funded, international award-winning PowerShift Atlantic Research and Demonstration project for five years. There, he and his team demonstrated near real-time energy shifting, innovative smart grid products and technologies, and energy storage that integrated more renewable energy into the grid.

Acting as account manager for the New Brunswick Corporation and the client account manager for Nova Scotia Power, Maritime Electric, Saint John Energy, and Emera Energy, Mark is a fixture in the field and a pro with client relationships. Mark is also the five-year president and CEO of Coleson Power Group (CPG), a company owned 50% by Stantec and 50% by Exp Consulting and whose sole client is New Brunswick Power. Prior to becoming president and CEO, Mark served as a CPG board member for two years.

My Presentation “PowerShift Atlantic a Virtual Power Plant” at Smart Grid Roadshow 2012 in Tampa, Florida, provided insight into how the largest and most complicated machine ever constructed, the electrical grid, can be harnessed to utilize existing storage capacity to allow more effective integration of renewable energy.

My Presentation “Smart Grid Technologies for the Workplace and Community” at the Smart Energy Conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia, explored the fast changing smart grid technologies and the impact they are currently having—and will continue to have in the future.

Passionate about my community, I coach and manage a team for the Fredericton District Soccer Association. During this past season I helped lead fundraising for the Under 18 Premier Ladies team to attend Nationals. Nearly $30,000 was raised in seven weeks.

I was the videographer to the Fredericton High School Lady Black Kats hockey team coaching staff for three years—work which helped the team finish second over all last season.
