Civil engineers provide a required service that protects public health and safety, and that’s very rewarding.

Christopher Yannoni

Senior Principal

Burlington, Massachusetts

Without water we cannot survive. It’s a resource that’s often taken for granted and usually only appreciated when not available. Christopher is a managing leader in our water sector, leading about 120 staff in New England, New York, and New Jersey. Outside of those responsibilities, he directs projects and pursues all opportunities for drinking water including his specialty area: water quality and treatment.

Over the last several years, Christopher and his team have been working with Groton Utilities to upgrade their water treatment plant replacing 1930- to 1960-vintage structures with new state-of-the-art treatment processes to meet future, more stringent, EPA drinking water regulations. This project—the largest funded drinking water project in the history of Connecticut—will improve the water quality and reliability of this supply, a supply that serves as the sole source of water to more than 40,000 customers.

A strong believer in the value of volunteer work, Christopher encourages anyone who wants to improve their network and learn about their profession to find a professional association in their area. When he’s not working, Christopher enjoys hiking, cross-country skiing, walking or running with his two dogs, or watching the Patriots.
