Imaginative clinical planning is inseparable from great building design. The free flow of ideas is exhilarating.

Catherine Zeliotis

Senior Associate, Healthcare Architecture

Catherine works on major healthcare facilities and addresses the challenges of combining functional efficiency with supportive environments for patients and staff. Following her postgraduate work with the Space Syntax Unit, she is particularly interested in designing hospital environments which integrate flows of people, information, and equipment while promoting interaction of staff and patients.

With a focus on cancer services, Catherine is a member of Stantec’s medical planning forum, a group that works to identify the challenges of healthcare architecture and improve techniques and outcomes. She also takes an active role in work to evaluate alternative configurations of nursing units and patient rooms across many healthcare organizations.

Recently, Catherine has lead the clinical design for the new Cancer Centre at Guy’s Hospital in London, The London Clinic Cancer Centre, and the Imaging and Cancer Center for Taussig Cancer Institute in Cleveland Ohio.
