Through the eyes of our own photographers
Each year we challenge our shutter bugs to grab their cameras, head out, and bring back compelling project and stock photography.
Who better to capture the essence of our wide-ranging work and impact on our communities than our own staff? That’s why each year we challenge our shutter bugs to grab their cameras, head out, and bring back compelling project and stock photography. Our “Through Your Eyes” photo contest always produces a bounty of outstanding images – and this year was no different. We received 730 images from across the world, making it a very difficult job for our judges to shortlist just 11 and choose the top 4.
But choose they did, and we are pleased to announce the results. First place is awarded to first-time winner Earle Hickey of the Dartmouth, NS office who submitted an incredible project photo of the Confederation Bridge. Second place goes to Dean Mullin of the Calgary, AB office for his stunning shot of the prairie silos. In third place is Dave Mayer from the Lombard, IL office for his conceptual image of the Lower Antelope Canyon. And this year's People's Choice winner is Hope Green from St. John's, NL for her exquisite nature shot.
Our friendly photo contest was created to tackle an ongoing need for great photography of all types – projects, people at work, and evocative stock images that capture and reflect the tremendous range of assignments we undertake for our clients. They are an essential component of our image library, which now numbers more than 77,500 photographs and illustrations.
Congratulations to all our talented photographers. Keep up the incredible work. For a look at all the finalists, please visit the Stantec Facebook page.
