Focused on tailing storage facility (TSF) design, construction, and operations, Efrain is a geotechnical engineer with over 20 years of experience. Currently, he serves as the Engineer of Record (EoR) for the two tallest TSFs in Peru, which are also two of the tallest in the world.
In his position, Efrain primarily serves as an EoR, maintaining the safety of the tailings deposits for issues related to physical and chemical stability, the environment, and hydrogeochemistry. In all that he does, he maintains a high level of dedication to the safety of downstream communities and the environments that surround them. Efrain loves his work because of the different dynamics that exist, the large number of challenges that are constantly presented, and because it gives him the opportunity to collaborate with such a talented team on the design, construction, and operation of the TSFs.
There is nothing Efrain loves more than being with his family, travelling and seeing new places.
