Jinquan is a seasoned structural engineer experienced in design and analysis for transportation and infrastructure projects. He served as a structural lead for pier structures for the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard, seismic task lead for the California High-Speed Rail M2M project, and design engineer for the Purple Line 2 and 3 projects in Los Angeles.
In addition to his design practice, Jinquan has delivered various high-performance solutions for seismic soil-structure interaction (SSI) analyses of nuclear and heavy civil structures. He spearheaded the use of supercomputers to deliver SSI results for meeting U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements on a nuclear power plant design certification application. He also developed a practical approach to model the interface between soil and structure in the SSI analysis of underground structures for Purple Line 2.
When it’s time to recharge, Jinquan enjoys spending time with family, watching movies, drinking coffee, and reading a good book.
