We helped our client envision a space where their specialized services take center stage
When our campus planning study revealed that the Rady Children’s Hospital’s ambulatory specialties lacked necessary departmental adjacencies and were located far from patient parking, the need for a dedicated Orthopedics and Scoliosis Center was clear.
As a long-term partner, we were particularly invested in making this happen. We helped the hospital re-evaluate which departments would benefit most from this centrally located office building and in turn, which departments would benefit the acute care buildings next door. Our renovation included 34 exam rooms, two cast rooms, kid-friendly X-ray suites, a rehabilitation assessment room, staff workrooms that facilitate the hospital’s teaching mission, and a spacious reception
The hospital’s goal to rebrand and repurpose an underutilized office building informed our approach to the third floor of the existing medical office building, and we created a space that formed the template for future renovations and modernizations. The result? A centralized location for specialized services and easier access to those services for patients, their families, and staff.
