In 2014, the Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) wanted to renovate their office to reflect their identity and support their business needs. Our job? Design a dynamic workspace to cultivate a professional image for APEGS and its members, while enhancing the security of the building.
We needed a design approach that could accommodate APEGS security conditions. 24/7 access to the office required monitoring, and restricted areas meant placing card access points strategically throughout the building. We developed a control system and tailored our design to manage office traffic. Public meeting rooms, private offices, and a shared kitchen were all created with programmable card access.
The office was completed in May 2015, encompassing 3774 square metres of revolutionized work space. The concept for the design was modern midcentury: a classy, timeless space with high ceilings and a soothing wood finish. We also made sure to include sustainable features. Access to direct natural light was important for employees, and energy-efficient systems will allow APEGS to make the most of their new home.
