Our team helped set up the new passenger information and operational support system (SAEIV) for public transportation users in 10 cities in Montreal’s South Shore.
This new system enables 130 intelligent buses to offer their users real-time information, such as vehicle arrival time and name of next stop. A number of bus stops will also be equipped with variable message signs to facilitate trip planning, thereby bolstering the sense of safety and confidence among public transportation users.
Our team developed the master plan and architecture for the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), in addition to ensuring the implementation and operation of the SAEIV system for its users.
The new system makes it easier to meet the needs of the population served by public transportation in the 10 cities in question: Candiac, Carignan, Chambly, Delson, La Prairie, Richelieu, Sainte-Catherine, Saint-Constant, Sainte-Julie, and Saint-Philippe. A major technological shift, this project encourages public transit use and strengthens the population’s loyalty to it.
