Designed to meet requirements for dementia, palliative and restorative patients, St. Peter’s incorporates a residential yet operationally efficient scheme within a modest budget.
A sense of home and neighborhood brings reassurance and safety to those who inhabit this home. The two storey home is organized into seven manor houses that are designed to blend with the surrounding residential context. Large bedroom suites facilitate palliative care, while public spaces such as an art gallery and a café encourage social interaction for active patients. Rehabilitation spaces address the needs of restorative care patients, while wandering loops maximize dignity for cognitively impaired patients. A residential feel is achieved despite heavy care requirements, with homelike finishes and hierarchal organization of public, semi-private and private spaces.
