In 2012, the Atlantic Council (ACUS) desired a fresh, multifaceted workspace to represent the values of the organization. An office to serve as a think tank and media-driven hub that reflects the integrity of the ACUS. Redesigning this 47,000 square foot office space in Washington, DC, is a project we were proud to help with.
The ACUS promotes constructive US leadership and engagement in international affairs. They needed a versatile space to accommodate a large number of visitors and employees and a full range of functions. We believed that a healthy blend of open and closed offices with a large multi-purpose conference center would most accurately meet their needs.
The new high-energy office promotes innovative thinking, collaboration, and learning. There is an 80/20 office to workstation ratio and the conference center can host events for up to 200 people. The ACUS headquarters was completed in August 2013 and designed to achieve LEED Silver certification.
