Our team was challenged to create a campus plan for Bloomsburg University that physically and culturally connects the campus. Separated by a ¼ mile roadway and more than 100 feet of topography, the campus is sectioned into two distinct communities. Lower campus is home to the academic core, freshman/sophomore housing, and core student life amenities, while upper campus is the site for athletics and upperclassmen housing.
As campus needs began to unfold, our core team involved Stantec’s in-house student housing, athletics, and student center design experts to help the University define necessary programs for accommodating their needs. Working closely with sub-committees, these experts helped define realistic goals and responsible budgets for each unique campus element. The result of our 12-month collaboration with the campus community and stakeholders, including alumni, is a well thought-out, and fiscally responsible plan that provides a logical implementation strategy.
