Buon Hospitality, which had obtained the franchise rights for Corner Bakery Café, called us in to handle the architecture and engineering. The first project couldn't have gone more smoothly. Our knowledge of jurisdictional requirements and attention to detail shone through when we obtained building department approval without any plan check comment.
Not all projects are that simple. The next project involved a challenging site with an old building requiring exterior modifications to the landscape and walkways over an existing culvert. Local water district and city approvals were a real challenge. To keep the project on track, we met with the local water district, listened to their concerns, and negotiated the requirements. Without this face-to-face meeting, the project schedule could have been delayed by weeks.
We got together with multiple franchise partners throughout California and Arizona, as well as corporate cafe locations. In all cases, we focused on developing strong relationships with the franchisee, Corner Bakery corporate, and the general contractor. We fostered teamwork to move the projects forward efficiently.
