They started out as a once-a-week drop-in center staffed by volunteer medical students—in a basement. Over 40 years later, Fenway Health is still serving the diverse Fenway neighborhood, but now they have a 10-story research and clinic facility.
Our contribution? We were involved in all facets of the project including managing the financing and financial closing. We also represented Fenway in the disposition of their existing building, the leasing of three floors of tenant space, and negotiations with the developer over a forthcoming shell condominium.
With more and more demand for their services, Fenway Health took the opportunity to expand its medical and behavioral health departments and pharmacy as well as add family dentistry and eye care services. The Fenway Community Health Center is the largest building ever constructed by an organization with a specific mission to serve the LGBT community—and this facility will continue to provide that excellent care to everyone in Fenway.
