Leadership at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center (LRHMC) prompted the health system to take a fresh look at their facility planning and their overall approach to executing projects. With a complex task at hand, the team at LRHMC reached out to Stantec’s Project Management team to help develop a strategy for its future growth.
The first major step in developing this strategy was to assess and evaluate the current facility plans and processes and to provide recommendations on where improvement was needed. Our team coordinated alongside hospital administration to redesign their project management processes, and as a result, LRHMC’s facility teams have since established a streamlined process for management selection; approval process for projects; early definition of project goals, budgets, and schedules which has helped minimize capital expenditure and determined the feasibility of projects.
The second major step was to begin planning a master facility plan. To aid this process, Stantec assisted in the selection of an architect to help create a comprehensive plan to facilitate the campuses future growth.
Once the master facility plan was in place, our team, who had been serving as LRHMC’s Capital Program & Project Manager since 2011, began preparations to begin a multitude of renovation and new construction projects.
