Our complete street, infrastructure, and storm water design was integral in helping the community attain its goal of economic revitalization through the transformation of a long vacant and unused site into a vibrant mixed-use development.
Our civil engineers brought expertise and creativity to the design of the supporting infrastructure for this new community in historic South Norwalk. The new mixed-use development consists of an eight-story condominium building and two six-story apartment buildings on an existing 3.8-acre site bordered by the Maritime Aquarium, the Norwalk River, and Metro-North Railroad.
While most of our work not visible to the community, it was essential in bringing a residential population to this area. We provided grading and drainage design, complete redesign of North Water Street, which runs in front of the development, and storm water quality improvements. Our drainage system improved the discharge quality through below-ground detention galleries and storm water best management practices.
