Traffic congestion has plagued the City of Lehi for more than five years. By connecting the residents of Eagle Mountain and Saratoga Springs with a new east-west corridor through Northern Utah County, Stantec helped to make thousands of motorists happy.
Pioneer Crossing is the first of two planned east-west highway corridors designed to connect communities and ease traffic congestion. The design-build team constructed a new roadway from 1 to 15 to Saratoga Springs and introduced Utah’s first diverging diamond interchange to local residents in response to the need to find innovative ways to safely improve traffic flow in downtown Lehi.
Multiple irrigation facilities were piped and relocated along the corridor to allow for roadway and intersection improvements. Through close coordination with public and private utilities, individual design charettes with land owners, and extensive coordination with the many project stakeholders, Stantec designed and coordinated the relocation of approximately 170 utility and irrigation conflicts along the project route. It was important to the community and land owners that existing utilities were protected and preserved. Stantec made this happen.
