Nearly 40 permits and authorizations from federal, state, and local agencies were required for the Parkway Pipeline by Kinder Morgan Energy Partners. Our management of the environmental permitting process and applications for this project considered the people, places, and environment along the pipeline route.
That’s because when built, it will pass through four parishes in the state of Louisiana and cross 28 miles of the environmentally sensitive Lake Pontchartrain. Next door in Mississippi, the pipeline will cross four counties.
To lower environmental impacts and increase benefits to communities, construction of the pipeline will follow existing utility paths wherever possible. We oversaw field environmental surveys, permitting, mitigation, and route refinement to help lower the effect on nature. As part of this work, we’re managing all environmental inspections, restoration, and permit compliance.
Stantec is also providing construction management and engineering support services during production. And, when the project is complete, we’ll take care of as-built surveys and as-built drawings.
