During an era of transportation transformation, the City of Philadelphia’s Department of Aviation (DOA) was on a mission to establish itself as a leading transportation hub worldwide. The DOA embarked on a $600-million capital improvement program for 38 projects at the Philadelphia International Airport and the Northeast Philadelphia Airport.
Their project-delivery partner? Stantec. Our team was selected to provide capital program management services for more than a decade. Our work included assisting in managing, coordinating, and monitoring the DOA’s overall capital program with regard to selecting the project team, scheduling and budgeting, and maximizing the use of available funding.
We delivered an objective executive analysis and an effective implementation that provided continuity, integration, and efficiency in the DOA’s overall capital program. Specific duties included preparing requests for proposals for a design team, preparing and negotiating contracts, and monitoring design. We also provided construction administration and contract administration services.
