The Collaborative Research Center is located in a renowned medical and research community in Manhattan. It consists of expansive, open laboratory spaces connected by an atrium space that encourages collaboration among scientists of various laboratories. As interdisciplinary collaboration is a defining trait of scientific research it is also a defining trait of how we approach the coordination and execution of our client’s vision. Our expertise in management and logistical oversight kept this six year project on time and under budget.
A challenging element of the Comparative Bioscience Center Annex was completing construction while the existing animal research facility remained in operation. We developed an extensive plan for communicating, implementing, and monitoring each stage of the process to ensure that ongoing experiments were not disrupted by the noise and vibration of construction.
The Library and Scientific Information Commons, although the smallest of the projects, was the most complex as the site access was difficult and the historic nature of the building required our project management oversight to ensure that the historic elements of the structure were preserved.
